squib-box presents Blacklists and Happenfilths, a six-part series of shows for Resonance 104.4 FM exploring the wide ranging interests and influences of our artists. You can pick up Resonance in the FM airwaves within London, or via a live stream from their website.
The show airs every Saturday afternoon from 3:30-4:30pm starting September 3rd. All episodes will be made available as podcasts from the squib-box website shortly after transmission.
A range of associate, and guest musicians and artists will join squib at the studio for each of the shows, which will veer dangerously between live performances, probing interviews, radio opera, quiz shows, birthday parties and contemporary dance.
3rd September – squib-box presents Shadow Prophets; a version of their recent operatic project adapted for radio
10th September – In a composer/performer focus, squib-box presents a show featuring live performances, interviews and music by Tim Parkinson, Claudia Molitor and Johannes Kreidler.
17th September squib-box celebrate 1 year of being officially ‘open for business’. The celebrations are led by trenchant avant-gardists-cum-children’s entertainers, Kinderfarten and Benny the Clown.
24th September squib-box are joined in the studio by composer/pianist Michael Finnissy. Featuring live performances, discussions and debate.
1st October squib-box presents a show focusing on contemporary dance and the relationship between movement/physicality and sound/music. You can expect a mix of live dance performances, movement/sound experiments and interviews with dancers, dance specialists and dance scientists.
8th October squib-box are joined in the studio by Mark Hanslip and Javier Carmona on a show focusing on improvisation. Featuring performances by Perro-chimp, Mowgli and from Hanslip/Carmona’s new CD Dosados.
